We are you is the new single by Italian band Lay Llamas.
The band formed in 2011 and since this inception have released two sold out cassettes and contributed a track to Rocket Recordings 15th Anniversary compilation called ‘Crystallized’.
The psych-pop of We are you is centred around a repetitive bass line reminiscent of Talking Heads ‘Psychokiller’ or Gnod’s infamous ‘Tony’s’ or Can’s ‘I want more’. This simple but addictive groove is encircled with washes of psychedelic keys, guitars and whispers that builds to
a climatic chanted chorus.
The radio edit of We are you is backed up with a remix by The Horrors Tom Furse who turns the track into a cosmic disco floor filler.
An unedited version of We are You can be found on the bands forthcoming debut album Ostro which is released on 26 May. The single and album was mastered by the genius that is James Plotkin.

A fantastic slice across the varied landscape of what Rocket do best, all packaged on two beautiful, heavyweight slabs of very pretty vinyl. Outstanding quality both musically and in the physical package too. This is part of why this label is awesome. Ed Sprake
